March 11, 2023Valve is planning to move Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to the Source 2 engine in March 2023. It is noted that it is likely it will be a new game, which will be called Counter-Strike 2. This was reported by journalist Richard Lewis, citing sources with knowledge about the development of the shooter. However, there has been no official announcements.
According to Lewis, Valve plans to release not a full-fledged, but a beta Counter-Strike 2. In the extreme case, its release may take place on April 1. Sources claim that the Source 2 version of the game will support all servers ticret 128, which is used for tournaments in CS:GO – in the matchmaking games are held on servers with a ticret 64.
First rumors that the developers will release CS:GO on Source 2 appeared in the spring of 2020. At the end of February 2023 more and more evidence began to appear that Valve will bring the shooter to Source 2 very soon – for example, NVIDIA released a new graphics card driver for Counter-Strike 2.
