Teams have now had plenty of time to adapt to Counter-Strike 2, with a new order establishing itself. It was FaZe who dominated the opening months of the game, but in the time since, it hasn’t been so simple. We’re taking a look at the best CS2 teams in 2024, ranking the top 5 based on who we think has impressed the most so far.

5. VITALITY

We were torn between G2 and Vitality for the first spot on this list. Both teams have been mighty inconsistent throughout the first half of 2024, and G2 even have the edge when it comes to trophies won. However, when it comes to convincing deep runs in tournaments, we’ve got to say that Vitality are still a better team overall. Despite being the only team on this list without a 2024 trophy win, Vitality continue to show that on their day, they can beat anyone, although they’re not quite as convincing as their 2023 selves.

The inconsistency of the likes of mezii and flameZ continues to hinder the ceiling of Vitality, and even ZywOo has faced questions about his form in Playoffs. Yet, even still, they remain one of the best CS2 teams in the world, and absolutely should be looking to come out of 2024 with some silverware.

4. NAVI

Despite an inconsistent year that could see NAVI soon make some CS2 roster changes, their PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 win can’t be ignored. Fluke or not, NAVI have won the biggest tournament of the year, netting them fourth place on this list of the best CS2 teams.

Both NAVI’s good and bad days have been defined entirely by individual form. AWPer w0nderful has had incredible highs and steep lows, and the same can be said of jL. When things are working for NAVI, they’re a joy to watch. If they can gain more consistency, they can definitely move up a place or two in the list of best CS2 teams in 2024.

3. SPIRIT

At the very beginning of 2024, Spirit looked like they had everything it takes to become the undisputed best CS2 team in the world. Around the time of their IEM Katowice 2024 glory, they were veiled in an aura of invincibility, thanks largely to the remarkable form of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets. Youngster donk was putting up generational numbers at the start of the year, with his unique “hold W” style buffed by a team set up to help him succeed.

Spirit aren’t higher on this list because they’ve faltered as the year has progressed. They still look solid, but we’ve seen the pressure of the big stage get to players like magixx and zont1x, even with donk still going huge. The lack of consistency has certainly hurt Spirit, but with a team so young, we’d bet this is something that sorts itself out in time.

2. FAZE

Of the top 5 CS2 teams in 2024, FaZe have the most Grand Finals to their name. With three attended, they have only managed to actually win IEM Chengdu 2024. Still, you can’t argue that their consistency in actually getting to these Finals gives them enough credit to reach second place on this list. This isn’t the dominant FaZe of old, but you still fancy them to win every single match they play.

For FaZe, the addition of frozen has been huge. He’s stepped into Twistzz’s shoes perfectly, offering something different for the team. He’ll count himself unfortunate to not have more to show for it, but we know he’ll be stacking that trophy cabinet soon enough. FaZe are a team you can never count out from bouncing back, which is why they almost top the list of the best CS2 teams in 2024.

1. MOUZ

The best CS2 team in 2024 is MOUZ. After winning ESL Pro League Season 19 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, MOUZ have managed to become remarkably consistent on the server, in a way that no other team has so far in 2024. Not the biggest prizes, sure, but you get the looming feeling that they’re just around the corner for this young squad.

MOUZ have been helped by a few factors. Jimpphat is a 17-year-old phenomenon, playing with experience beyond his years, and the rapid development of torzsi throughout 2024 has been a joy to watch. Brollan looks like a player reborn on MOUZ, and siuhy continues to show why he is widely considered to be the best young IGL in the world. This MOUZ team have everything it takes to be among the best CS2 teams in the world for years to come.

There are still a couple of reservations about MOUZ. They can’t seem to beat FaZe, and they still struggle on the biggest stages. It’s only a matter of time before they find a way over these humps.
